1. Who we are
Sensory Table Stories (sensorytablestories.com) is an independent editorial website publishing personal food essays, memoir, and travel writing. References to "we", "us", or "our" in this policy refer to Sensory Table Stories.
2. What information we collect
We collect information in two ways:
Information you give us
- Contact form: when you send a message via our contact page we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data: standard server logs may record your IP address, browser type, referring URL, and pages visited. This data is used solely for security and operational purposes and is not linked to your identity.
- Cookies: we use a cookie consent banner. Only strictly necessary cookies are set before you give consent. If you accept analytics cookies, aggregate usage data may be collected to help us understand how readers find and use the site. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser cookies.
3. How we use your information
- To respond to enquiries submitted through the contact form.
- To maintain the security and performance of the website.
- To understand, in aggregate, how readers engage with our content.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
4. Legal basis for processing (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data under the following legal bases:
- Legitimate interests — operating and securing the website, responding to contact form submissions.
- Consent — analytics cookies, where applicable.
5. Data retention
Contact form messages are retained for as long as necessary to respond to your enquiry and for a reasonable period thereafter. Server logs are retained for up to 90 days. You may request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 7).
6. Third-party services
The site is hosted on GoDaddy's Airo platform. GoDaddy's own privacy policy governs data processed at the infrastructure level. We do not currently embed third-party advertising networks or social media tracking pixels.
7. Your rights
Depending on your location you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us via the contact page.
8. Children's privacy
This website is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
